The perfect funnel construction

Let’s be honest: nobody at university was interested in fluid mechanics.

But there is also a good side to the science of fluids and their physical behavior. We can tell you exactly what the best funnel is for really ripping your face off.

The basic question in determining whether a funnel is good or bad is: How quickly is the half gone? Or: How hard is the beer forced down my throat?

Well, this question can be adequately answered thanks to the esteemed Mr. Evangelista Torricelli and his theorem from 1643. From this, by solving the differential equation of the rate of descent of the filling level and the rate of change of the filling level ("Blah blah, get to the point!!!"), the emptying time can be calculated. Or in other words: How much oomph does the load come towards you?

The emptying time is calculated from the ratio of hose to outlet, as well as the fill level. The closer the diameters of hose and outlet are, the shorter the emptying time.

If you transfer these admittedly somewhat dry theoretical principles to funnel practice, the following should be noted:

    1. The larger the diameter of the spout , the more bang it makes !
    2. A 3/4'' outlet on a DN25 hose ensures a beer shot that is more than twice as fast as a 1/2'' outlet.
    3. The hose nozzle is essential to ensure the smoothest possible transition from hose to outlet and thus a short emptying time.

For this reason, our high-end DOPPELBUMS funnel has a 3/4'' ball valve outlet . With the built-in, professionally sealed hose nozzles, we ensure an optimal ratio of outlet and hose size on all of our funnels.

This will be a blast! Promised! Torricelli was a good boy and proved it.

In this sense:

You should better beer fast!
